Relishes
Southerners serve chow chow with beans, peas and greens and as an all-purpose relish with meat, poultry and fish. Chow chow is also a popular regional alternative to pickle relish on hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches.
Chow chow is ideal for making quick, easy tuna and potato salads, meatloaf and other recipes. With zero fat, few calories and very little sugar or sodium, chow chow could easily qualify as a "health food."
